About the Curriculum
Our mental health curriculum was created under the guidance of mental health professionals at the University of Louisville. This comprehensive, easy to understand curriculum walks kids through different aspects of mental health: teaching them what mental health is, why it's important, how to maintain good mental health, and different mental illnesses. However, our curriculum shouldn't be used for self diagnosis; we encourage kids to consult with an adult, counselor, or other professional if they feel like they're experiencing signs of a mental illness. Our STEM curriculum covers all aspects of STEM--ranging from different programming languages to wet-lab sciences, like chemistry and biology. Our curriculum is designed to be engaging, and teaches kids advanced STEM concepts through interactive powerpoints and hands-on experimentation. Our curriculum is tailored primarily towards those with little to no prior STEM knowledge. We encourage students to enter our workshops with an open mind and a desire to learn; we will walk them through all of the background information that they need to know for each topic covered. |
